The Type 2 Modified Reset configuration provides a smart safety mechanism: when an overcurrent event is sensed, the breaker trips open. An internal diagnostic resistor keeps the contacts safely open as long as the system voltage remains applied. It will reset only after you manually switch off the power supply, avoiding hazardous and continuous cycling.
